Packing slip templates for Shopify admin

Paste either template into Settings → Shipping and delivery → Packing slips → Edit (in some shops the same editor sits under Documents). Uses only variables from Shopify's packing slip variable reference. How to change the layout is in Customizing packing slips.

In the editor, select all of the current template and copy it to a text file. That is your way back.
Paste one of the templates below and save. Click Preview in the editor and select a real order so you can see how the slip looks before you print a batch.
To restore the default: paste the copy you saved. Some document editors also offer a revert control. Shopify support can point you to the default template for your shop if you did not keep a copy.

Logo images in packing slips must be files you uploaded to Shopify (cdn.myshopify.com). Replace your-logo.png with that file name. The barcode block is a placeholder for a barcode app snippet — this template does not draw a scannable barcode.

How it works

In Shopify admin, open Orders. Sort or filter if you only want some orders, then click Export.
In the Export orders window, pick the orders (current page, selected, all, or a date range) and export as CSV — the orders file, not transaction history. Exports of 50 or fewer orders, or the current page, download to your computer. Exports of 51 or more, or export by date, are emailed to you and the store owner. See Exporting orders.
Drop that CSV on this page. Select orders, fill in your store details, choose Invoice or Packing slip, and Letter or A4.
Download one combined PDF or a PDF per order. For slips printed from Shopify itself, paste a Liquid template above into Settings → Shipping and delivery → Packing slips.

FAQ

Does this page upload my Shopify orders?

No. The CSV is read in your browser. This page has no server for order files, no cookies, and no analytics. Closing the tab clears what you loaded.

How do I export an orders CSV from Shopify?

In Shopify admin, open Orders, filter if you need a subset, then click Export. In the Export orders window pick which orders and Export as CSV (the orders file, not transaction history). If you export 50 or fewer orders, or the current page, the file downloads to your computer. If you export 51 or more, or export by date, Shopify emails the CSV to you and the store owner.

How are orders with several products handled?

Shopify writes extra products on the following rows and leaves most order fields blank. This page groups those rows by the Name column (the order number), carrying the last seen order number forward when Name is empty. Each row becomes a line item.

Which currencies can the invoice show?

Whatever is in the Currency column of your export. Amounts are formatted with that currency code. There is no exchange-rate conversion.

Can I generate invoices for many orders at once?

Yes. After the CSV loads, select the orders you want and download one combined PDF (one order per page, with extra pages if a table runs long). Each row also has a button to download that order on its own.

What is the difference between a packing slip and an invoice?

A packing slip lists what to put in the box: quantities, names, SKUs, ship-to address. An invoice is a bill: prices, discounts, shipping, taxes, and the total. Shopify's built-in packing slip is for fulfillment. This page can print either from the same CSV, and also gives you Liquid to paste into Shopify's packing slip editor.

Does this meet EU or UK VAT invoice rules?

No. The PDF is an ordinary commercial invoice or packing slip. It does not claim to meet VAT invoice, e-invoicing, or other country-specific legal requirements. If you need a fiscal invoice, use an accountant or a tool built for that jurisdiction.

How is this different from Shopify Order Printer or paid invoice apps?

Shopify can print packing slips from an order, and apps such as Order Printer can format documents from live order data inside admin. This page never connects to your store. You export a CSV yourself and print here, or you paste Liquid into Shopify's packing slip template. There is no account, no monthly fee, and no app install.

How do I restore Shopify's default packing slip template?

What if my CSV is missing some columns?
